Making a Difference
For the Good of Halstead, Forever
The Halstead Community Foundation (HCF) is a public, charitable foundation transforming the Halstead community by making a difference right here at home. HCF was established in 2010 as an affiliate of the Central Kansas Community Foundation. Local leaders wanted to facilitate charitable giving opportunities for current, former and future residents of Halstead to make a lasting impact for generations to come. Governed by a board of directors with a diverse presence in the community, the foundation is working for positive change and is charged by the momentum of key leaders.

HCF invites you to kick off your hometown holiday season at Halstead’s annual Christmas Jingle on Saturday, Dec. 6.
From a cocoa crawl along Main Street and a Christmas light scavenger hunt to kids crafts, community caroling and visits with Santa, the event is filled with plenty of festive family fun.
This year marks the exciting debut of the Riverside Park Christmas light display, with colorful lights wrapping the trees to create a glowing winter backdrop for horse-drawn carriage rides and evening festivities.

HCF Exceeds PFF Match Opportunity!
We did it – and then some! Thanks to our generous community, we didn’t just meet our Patterson Family Foundation $100,000 match … we doubled it with a whopping $202,000 in donations!
This incredible success means more resources for our local nonprofits, more scholarships for our HHS graduates and more opportunities to strengthen Halstead’s future together. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support that really proves the power of our little community.
Not only did we exceed our Patterson Family Foundation match … we also quadrupled our donor base from last year’s campaign. From individuals and families to businesses and organizations, Halstead stepped up in a big way, which proves that when our community comes together, amazing things happen.
Yet another exciting highlight from this year’s match campaign includes establishing these FIVE new funds to provide scholarships for Halstead students, strengthen a local organization and support community improvement projects:
P.E.O. Chapter AK Scholarship Fund
Annetta (Unruh) Howard Family Kindness Award Fund
Halstead Life Church Impact Fund
Halstead Parks Improvement Fund
Wedgewood Golf Course Improvement Fund
We are grateful to the donors who had a vision to make these new funds possible! HCF is always ready to help community members establish funds that reflect their passions and dreams for the future of Halstead.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who made a donation, participated in a 12 Days of Christmas in July event and supported our efforts on social media. We are thrilled to continue growing a lasting impact in Halstead for generations to come!
