MISSION & PURPOSE
The originating mission of Franklin D. and Beverly J. Gaines Foundation is to create a more vibrant and economically stable future for generations to come in the Fredonia area community. Grant making will focus on promoting a healthy community; enhancing the quality of life; and strengthening economic development and tourism through community-wide charitable initiatives.

PROMOTING A HEALTHY COMMUNITY
Donor’s goal is to promote a healthy community by improving the quality of life and productivity throughout the life span. Grant awards may provide educational opportunities and programs targeting an increase in physical activity; good nutrition; enhanced mental well-being, and a reduction of the incidence of disease and disability through prevention and detection programs.

QUALITY OF LIFE
Donor’s goal is to enhance the quality of life in Fredonia and Wilson County through the arts, parks and recreation, and community beautification.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/TOURISM FOR CHARITABLE PROJECTS
Donor wishes to support charitable projects that enhance economic development and tourism, including but not necessarily limited to the following: entrepreneurship education; workforce training; business technical assistance; research and feasibility studies; leadership training; marketing and community awareness; community events such as festivals open to the public; and community economic development projects that remove barriers to development and prosperity.
